Hello, I’m from Japan. I go to Thompson Rivers University as an international student. I haven’t decided my dream yet, but I’m interested in intercultural communication, so I’m studying English to improve my English skills in Canada. The reason why I chose Canada is that there are many kinds of people who have each national in Canada, so I can communicate with such people. I want to expand my knowledge by understanding other cultures and ways of thinking. Japanese culture and Canadian culture are different, so there are a lot of things that surprised me. For example, I can know how many minutes the bus will come by using the bus application called Transit. There is nothing like this application in Japan. I think it is so useful for me because I can know if the bus is delayed. There are a lot of different customs in Canada. Therefore, I’d like to learn about the culture of Canada.
